I have been in the business of automating services for governments, health care providers and educational establishments as well as commercial enterprises around the world for more than 20 years. Whilst there are many sites that deal with this aspect or that I genuinely felt that there was a need for something more.

Do we really need another site devoted to e-business?

Well if all of the above is not enough to answer this question consider the fact that few e-business and e-commerce sites are devoted to service.

Whilst this site will cover the commercial use of technology to enable services we are unashamedly focusing on the services that solve real problems in society, e.g. the delivery of health care and social services, and particularly where these services can greatly enhance the quality of life for the under privileged and provide a greater degree of inclusion.

It is true that there is a great deal of published information about e-government strategies and the like on the internet but again few really address the key service issues and are constrained by a need to be non controversial.

I believe we should understand how e-services can address the life and death issues facing sections of our community and how e-services have succeeded in doing so and where they have failed.

In my opinion, we should not be too quick to abandon the lessons of the past nor the lessons of outright commercial use of technology.

There is much to be learned from businesses and the way they deliver their services, adapt to frequent changes in demand, achieve remarkable performance improvements and achieve high levels of client satisfaction and adoption for their e-business services.
